What is therapy?
Psychological therapy, sometimes called "therapy" or "talking therapy" is a process where you talk with a trained professional about your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and experiences. The aim is to help you to understand yourself better, cope with difficulties, and make changes that improve your sense of wellbeing. It is not about someone telling you what to do or judging you - its an opportunity to explore with someone else - in a safe and confidential space - what is going on in your mind, untangle problems and find healthier ways to think, feel, and act.
We have a growing network of therapists using our therapy space. Our practitioners may have different therapeutic approaches, training, experience and will work with different groups and specialties. Contact them directly to arrange a consultation.

Maki Ohhara (MBACP Accred)
Diploma in HE Psychodynamic Counselling.
My approach is based on the understanding that significant events and relationships in our early life experiences can influence the way we feel and behave in the present.
Psychotherapy is a collaborative process, and it can take courage to want to change in some way and admit to yourself that maybe you can’t do it on your own. I will listen to you empathically and supportively, without judgement and in a confidential environment.
By exploring your emotions together I will help you understand and overcome any complicated feelings you may have about yourself or other significant people, or anything you may feel is holding you back from living a happy and fulfilled life.

Tony Pleasance (BABCP Accred)
MSc, CBT and EMDR Therapist
I help people who are skilled but stressed, busy but burnt out, or stuck in overthinking, anxiety, low mood, or trauma.
A psychiatric nurse and BABCP-accredited CBT therapist with 35+ years’ experience, I collaborate with you to agree clear goals, use evidence-based CBT to move toward what matters, and away from symptoms, in practical ways. When appropriate, I use EMDR as a fast, safe way to treat trauma/PTSD (from accidents, assaults, or difficult childhoods).
A former English Tae Kwon Do gold medallist, 2nd-Dan black belt and ultrarunner, I also enjoy supporting high-performers and athletes with motivation, performance anxiety, and recovery.
